During my last summer holidays I traveled down past Batemans Bay to a little town called Tomakin with my family from Victoria. We went exploring another little town a couple of k's away called Mogo wich was the most amusing tourist attraction I have seen so far. The town made its money off tourists with arts to craft stores to animal made clothings to ice-creamerys. I found a small cottage called "Mary's Place", half the cottage was her home, the front half was a pink store which she painted where she sold things from artworks she has done, to all these crystal-like stones. I was so hypnotyzed by the place I didnt want to leave.
The Pyramid of Giza (the largest one) was beleived to have been built over a 20 year period finishing around 2560 BC. It had been the tallest man made structure for 4300 years. It is made entirley out of limestone and contains around 1 300 000 blocks ranging in weight from 2.5 tons to 15 tons. The amazing part of this is that no machinery existed in those days and every block of limestone was carved out of the ground and dragged by man who raised the blocks higher as they built upwards.

This paiting was 1 out of a body of work which I did for Visual arts for my HSC in 2009.It was a piece which represented by origin along with other works that represented where I was from even though physically I was never there and how I am tied to two cultures. I struggled because I started less than a handfull of weeks before it was due and cosidering oil paintings can take up to a few weeks to dry, my assessment was considered "last minute". This painting in particuar is my favourite because it was thought through clearly at every stage of producing it.
